Temporary Lane Closure on Benning Road NE Begins August 15
(Washington, DC)— The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the westbound curb lane and shift the traffic pattern on Benning Rd, NE as it becomes the Lorraine Whitlock Bridge. This activity will run continuously behind barricades from 7:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 through Saturday, August 24, 2019, weather permitting. One lane of traffic westbound will always be available.
This work is a part of the ongoing Minnesota Avenue Phase II Rehabilitation Project and is required for sidewalk and roadway reconstruction.
Pedestrians and motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate heavy delays, and to be mindful construction personnel.
