Temporary Closure of Suitland Parkway, SE March 28, 2020

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway, SE between South Capitol Street, SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Saturday, March 28, 2020 for bridge reconstruction, as shown in the below graphic. In the event of weather or other unforeseen delays the closure will occur on Sunday, March 29, 2020. A marked detour will be in place during the closure.

This closure is necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/Suitland Parkway interchange.

Motorists are advised to stay alert and follow signage when traveling through this area.
