Temporary Closure of Suitland Parkway SE on April 4
 

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway between South Capitol Street, SE/SW Freeway and Firth Sterling Avenue SE for bridge reconstruction from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Saturday, April 4, 2020, weather permitting. 

In the event of a delay, the closure will occur on Sunday, April 5, 2020. A marked detour will be in place during the closure.

This closure is necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/Suitland Parkway interchange.

Motorists are advised to stay alert and follow signage when traveling through this area.
