Temporary Closure on Suitland Parkway on April 18
(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close Suitland Parkway between South Capitol Street SE/SW and Firth Sterling Avenue, SE from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm, on Saturday, April 18, 2020 for bridge reconstruction.
In the event of weather or other unforeseen delays the closure will occur on Sunday, April 19, 2020. A marked detour will be in place during this closure.
This closure is necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/Suitland Parkway interchange.
Motorists are advised to stay alert and follow signage when traveling through this area.
