(Washington, DC) — The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss the DC Streetcar Car Barn Training Center (CBTC) Addition Project in support of the Benning Road Extension Project. The CBTC will expand by constructing an addition to the north of the existing building to accommodate additional streetcars, and increase maintenance, office, and storage space.

The meeting is being held to support the review of the Project pursuant to the  National Environmental Policy Act and the Historic Landmark and Historic District Protection Act of 1978 (D.C. Law 2-144, as amended) (Act). DDOT is inviting interested entities, per Section 9B of this Act, an opportunity to comment on the potential effect of the CBTC Addition (Undertaking) on any property listed or eligible for listing in the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites. The project is located within two historic districts (Kingman Park Historic District and Young, Browne, Phelps, and Spingarn Education Campus Historic District), adjacent to the Spingarn High School historic property, Langston Terrace Dwellings historic property, and the Langston Golf Course Historic District.
