The Office of Civil Rights administers compliance programs and policies related to Civil Rights for the District Department of Transportation. The office is responsible for ensuring agency compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI) Environmental Justice is the Federal law that protects individuals from discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin in any program receiving Federal assistance.
