Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deck Over Project Public Meeting to Be Held April 2

(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) invites you to a public meeting to discuss the start of construction for the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deck Over Project. DDOT will provide an overview of the project, including the construction schedule, impacts, and benefits. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how the project will enhance safety, accessibility, and public space along Connecticut Avenue NW.

In Ward 2, Dupont Circle is a vibrant commercial hub featuring restaurants, bars, boutiques, small businesses, national retailers, hotels, religious institutions, and office buildings. Visitors arrive by Metro, car, bike, and foot to experience the neighborhood’s unique character, attend local events, and shop at the weekly farmers market while connecting to other parts of the District.

As part of DDOT’s mission, the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deck Over Project will enhance the quality of life for residents, improve sustainability, and increase safety through thoughtful planning and engineering solutions aligned with DC’s Vision Zero initiative.

This project will transform Connecticut Avenue NW by creating a new multi-modal streetscape, spanning from the north side of Dupont Circle to California Street NW—approximately 2,600 feet of roadway. The project includes a deck-over of Connecticut Avenue at Dupont Circle, creating a new public space that will enhance connectivity, support community activities, and provide a safer, more accessible environment for all. We look forward to your participation.
