Temporary Lane Closures on the E Street Expressway Starting May 5
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close all lanes of traffic on the E Street Expressway from 20th Street to the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) NW from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., starting on or aboutTuesday, May 5, 2020 through Monday, June 8, 2020, weather permitting.
The closures are needed for roadway repairs. The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday.
A detour route will be in place to guide motorists to and from I-66 and E St NW. Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
