Reconstruction of Kennedy Street NW Phase II Project

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host a public meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, to discuss the Reconstruction of Kennedy Street NW Phase II Project. DDOT will present an overview of the final design plans at this meeting.

The Phase II project continues the Reconstruction on Kennedy Street NW from 16th Street NW to Georgia Avenue NW. The project also incorporates work at the intersection of Georgia Ave NW and Illinois Ave NW at Longfellow Street NW.

The project includes roadway, curb, and sidewalk reconstruction; streetscape upgrades; improving ADA accessible facilities; new low impact development (LID)/Stormwater management facilities and traffic signal upgrades. Additionally, the project incorporates Livability Study recommendations to improve driver and pedestrian safety along the corridor.
