2026 DDOT Public Space Suspension of Work Calendar District of Columbia Legal Public Holidays
In addition to the above Legal Public Holidays, the Mayor (or his or her designee) may designate other days or portions of the day as a legal public holiday or issue a suspension of work notice due to citywide activities and/or inclement weather. Failure to comply with a Suspension of Work Order is a violation of District of Columbia Municipal Regulations. This violation may result in the revocation of all public space permits and the assessment of associated fines. *The legal public holiday is Saturday; it will be observed on the preceding Friday. **The legal public holiday is Sunday; it will be observed on the following Monday.
