Christian Piñeiro

Position/Title: 
Interim Community Engagement Manager

Christian Piñeiro is a transportation and government affairs professional currently serving as the Interim Community Engagement Manager for the District Department of Transportation. In this role, Christian leads DDOT’s community relations team, responsible for working directly with residents, community groups, Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, DC Council, and the Executive Office of the Mayor to address urgent and complex community concerns. Prior to this role, he represented the agency as the Ward 3 liaison conducting outreach for capital projects, educating the public on agency programs, and ensuring Ward 3 residents were delivered timely city services.

Before coming to DDOT, Christian was a policy analyst at the Eno Center for Transportation, a nonpartisan think tank renowned for its global impact on transportation policy and research. He previously held leadership roles serving as an executive board member for the DC Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) Chapter and a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). He has presented research at both local and national conferences on transit-oriented development and is a staunch advocate for strengthening urban design and sustainable mobility.

Christian earned his Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies from Towson University and a Master of Public Administration from Texas A&M University’s George Bush School of Government and Public Service. He lives in Laurel, Maryland with his newlywed wife, Deanna, and dachshund puppy, Pretzel.
