DDOT to Host Art Pop-ups for Near Northwest III Safety and Mobility Study
(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host a pop-up to gather community input and discuss ideas about five immediate art installation locations in tactical curb extensions. This project is part of the Near Northwest III Safety and Mobility Study, which is designed to improve the transportation network in five Northwest DC neighborhoods.
The Art Pop-ups will allow DDOT to share draft designs for the five immediate installation locations with art and answer any questions about the overall project.

About the Study
The Near Northwest III Safety and Mobility Study is designed to improve the daily quality of life by taking a big picture look at the transportation network in the Logan Circle, Shaw, Cardozo, Columbia Heights, and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods in Northwest DC. It will identify immediately implementable and concrete actions to increase safety and improve transportation connectivity and accessibility in this area of the District. Two virtual public workshops were hosted February 16 and March 9, 2021 and a final workshop will be held in June 2021. The presentations, handouts, and recordings from the first two workshops can be found on the project website in both English and Spanish.
The study will conclude by Fall 2021 with a series of short term quick-build projects and other near-term actions that may include traffic calming and intersection safety enhancements. To learn more about the study, visit the project website at: nnwiii-dcgis.hub.arcgis.com.
