Personal delivery devices, or PDDs, are sidewalk robots that offer door-to-door delivery services in the District. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) allows these devices, when permitted, as an alternative to larger delivery vehicles and to help reduce single-occupancy vehicle trips. PDDs promise to offer greater accessibility to delivery services while reducing delivery-based street congestion and emissions.

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is a federal-aid program that provides funding for the development, renovation, and maintenance of recreational trails and trailside facilities. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) administers this program at the federal level while the District Department of Transportation administers the program for the District of Columbia. The Mayoral appointed Recreational Trails Advisory Committee meets once a year to advise DDOT on how RTP funds should be spent.
Open Streets in Your Neighborhood is coming to Ward 5’s 12th Street NE at the end of August! The event will close half a mile of 12th Street NE to cars and open them up to people to ride, bike, walk, socialize, and participate in fun programming, just in time for school!

The event will close 0.75 miles of Benning Road NE, between Minnesota Avenue NE and East Capitol Street NE, to cars and open it to people to ride, bike, walk, socialize, and participate in fun programming!

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) invites the public to participate in public meetings for the Connecticut Avenue NW Reversible Lanes and Multimodal Safety Project formerly known as the Connecticut Avenue NW Reversible Lane Safety and Operations Study.
There are two meeting dates—the same information will be presented on both days: Tuesday, June 28, 2022 (virtual only) and Wednesday, June 29, 2022 (in person).

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host a virtual public meeting to discuss the drainage improvements and stormwater management practices that are being considered to alleviate flooding conditions on Connecticut Avenue NW at the Cleveland Park Metro Station and nearby intersections. Project staff will share the findings from the analysis of the Porter-Ordway sewershed and the sewer trunk on Porter Street NW. Project components include storm drain upgrades and stormwater management improvements west of Connecticut Avenue NW.
