A “Neighborhood Block Party” is an activity of a recreational or civic nature sponsored by the residents of a neighborhood, for which the residents seek to close a block of their street and for which there is no admission or entrance fee. Other requests for street closure may be made via a Special Events Permit Application.
Today, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced the planned deployment of automated traffic enforcement cameras to High Injury Network (HIN) locations throughout the District. The HIN locations are traffic sites where data analysis has identified Speeding and Speed running as safety issues.

DDOT's Ward 7 Community Engagement Specialist and Traffic Safety Engineers will conduct a walkthrough of 17th Street NE. The purpose of the walkthrough is to discuss traffic patterns, missing sidewalks, parking regulations, and other DDOT service-related concerns with the community. The team will focus primarily on the area around 17th Street NE and E Street NE, with a secondary focus on the area north of that starting point. The last stop on the walkthrough will be at the intersection of 17th Street NE and C Street NE.
