The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) invites you to a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, on the Arboretum Bridge and Trail project. The project team will present an update and address questions from the community at this public meeting. The Arboretum Bridge and Trail project was established to provide the missing passageway between the Anacostia waterfront and the U.S. National Arboretum, which annually garners more than 500,000 visitors. The crossing will be Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant and will improve access for all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, kayakers, canoers, anglers, and wildlife observers. The project is situated on National Park Service (NPS) lands and will create a connection between the Arboretum, Kenilworth Park North, and adjacent neighborhoods, including Mayfair, Kenilworth-Parkside, and River Terrace.
