Mayor Bowser is committed to eliminating all roadways, alleys, and sidewalks in poor condition in Washington, DC by 2024 through the PaveDC initiative. This publication lists all of the road, alley, and sidewalk paving projects that will be under construction during the next two weeks. The 2019 Paving Plan is now live on the PaveDC website and includes a new tab for sidewalks scheduled for repair, in the coming weeks DDOT will also post the markings plan for the 2019 season.For more information about these projects, please visit DDOT's interactive tool, PaveDC.

Please note: Work may be adjusted depending on weather and other conditions. Additional projects may be added to this list. DDOT contacts residents and businesses within the work zones before work begins. Unless otherwise noted, work is not conducted on weekends.


Citywide Pavement Restoration Projects

As part of DDOT's commitment to improving and restoring local roadways, activities will be conducted at the following locations throughout the following two weeks, weather permitting:

Ward 2

  • Canal Road NW, between Foxhall Road NW and M Street NW

Ward 3

  • Belt Road NW, between Donaldson Place NW and Fessenden Street NW
  • Chesapeake Street NW, between Linnean Avenue NW and Dead End
  • Chesapeake Street NW, between Reno Road NW and 38th Street NW
  • Oliver Street NW, between 39th Street NW and Belt Road NW
  • Chevy Chase Parkway NW, between Patterson Street NW and McKinley Street NW
  • Kanawha Street NW, between Nevada Avenue NW and 38th Street NW
  • 27th Street NW, between Cathedral Avenue and Woodley Road NW
  • 29th Street NW, between Cathedral Avenue and Woodley Road NW
  • Woodland Drive NW, between 29th Street NW and 30th Street NW
  • 39th Street NW, between Idaho Avenue NW and Macomb Street NW
  • Garfield Street NW, between Foxhall Road NW and 49th Street NW
  • 38th Street NW, between Massachusetts Avenue NW and Macomb Street NW
  • Woodley Road NW, between Idaho Avenue NW and Wisconsin Avenue NW
  • 44th Place NW, between Hawthorne Street NW and Cathedral Avenue NW
  • Davis Place NW, between 41st Street NW and 39th Street NW
  • Beecher Street NW, between 41st Street NW and 42nd Street NW
  • 39th Street NW, between Edmunds Street NW and Beecher Street NW
  • Devonshire Place NW, between Cortland Place NW and Cortland Place NW
  • Cortland Place NW, between 29th Street NW and Devonshire Place NW
  • 28th Street NW, between Cathedral Avenue NW and Woodley Road NW

Ward 7

  • East Capitol Street NE, between B Street NE and 33rd Street NE

Citywide Sidewalk Restoration Projects

As part of DDOT's commitment to the improvement and restoration of local sidewalks, construction activities will occur at the following locations throughout the next two weeks.

Ward 3

  • Fessenden Street NW, between Connecticut Avenue NW and 44th Street NW

Ward 4

  • Georgia Avenue NW, between Princeton Place NW and Ingraham Street NW

Ward 6

  • D Street SE, between New Jersey Avenue SE and 1st Street SE

Citywide Alley Restoration Projects

DDOT is improving alleys across the city. Once work begins, access to parts of the alley under construction will be closed, and parking is restricted. In emergency situations, access may be permitted by notifying DDOT. Work is estimated to take about two weeks, weather permitting. DDOT will be working in the following alleys this week:

Ward 6

  • Square 1033, bound by C Street NE, Warren Street NE, Tennessee Avenue NE and Constitution Avenue NE
  • Square 1033, bound by C Street NE, 14th Street NE, Warren Street NE and Constitution Avenue NE
  • Square 0780, bound by E Street SE, 3rd Street SE, D Street SE and 4th Street SE

Ward 7

  • Square 5500, bound by Randle Circle SE, Minnesota Avenue SE, Branch Avenue SE and Lyndale Place SE
