Work Between Saturday, November 23 and Saturday, December 7, 2019

Mayor Bowser is committed to eliminating all roadways, alleys, and sidewalks in poor condition in Washington, DC by 2024 through the PaveDC initiative. This publication lists all of the road, alley, and sidewalk paving projects that will be under construction during the next two weeks. The 2019 Paving Plan is now live on the PaveDC website and includes a new tab for sidewalks scheduled for repair, in the coming weeks DDOT will also post the markings plan for the 2019 season.For more information about these projects, please visit DDOT's interactive tool, PaveDC.

Please note: Work may be adjusted depending on weather and other conditions. Additional projects may be added to this list. DDOT contacts residents and businesses within the work zones before work begins. Unless otherwise noted, work is not conducted on weekends.

Citywide Pavement Restoration Projects

As part of DDOT's commitment to improving and restoring local roadways, activities will be conducted at the following locations throughout the following two weeks, weather permitting:

Ward 1

  • Sherman Avenue NW, between Florida Avenue NW and Park Road NW (Crack Sealing)
  • 33rd Street NW, between M Street NW and N Street NW

Ward 2

  • Reservoir Road NW, between Foxhall Road NW and 35th Street NW (Crack Sealing)

Ward 3

  • Connecticut Avenue NW, between Nebraska Avenue NW and Porter Street NW
  • Foxhall Road NW, between W Street NW and Nebraska Avenue NW
  • 30th Street NW, between Albemarle Street NW and Brandywine Street NW

Ward 4

  • Buchanan Street NW, between Kansas Avenue NW and 13th Street NW
  • Randolph Street NW, between 8th Street NW and Georgia Avenue NW
  • Shepherd Street NW, between 7th Street NW and Georgia Avenue NW
  • 17th Street NW, between Shepherd Street NW and Upshur Street NW
  • 18th Street NW, between Upshur Street NW and Taylor Street NW

Ward 5

  • 8th Street NE, between Hamlin Street NE and Kearny Street NE
  • 12th Street NE, between Buchanan Street NE and South Dakota Avenue NE
  • Lyman Place NE, between 17th Street NE and 19th Street NE

Ward 7

  • 41st Street NE, between East Capitol Street and Ames Street NE

Ward 8

  • 1st Street SE, between Atlantic Street SE and Alabama Avenue SE

Citywide Sidewalk Restoration Projects

As part of DDOT's commitment to the improvement and restoration of local sidewalks, construction activities will occur at the following locations throughout the next two weeks.

Ward 3

  • Ellicott Street NW, between 46th Street NW and 47th Street NW
  • 45th Street NW, between Alton Place NW and Butterworth Place NW

Ward 5

  • Taylor Street NE, between 13th Street NE and 14th Street NE
  • P Street NW, between North Capitol Street and New Jersey Avenue NW
  • 30th Street NE, between Douglas Street NE and Adams Street NE

Citywide Alley Restoration Projects

DDOT is improving alleys across the city. Once work begins, access to parts of the alley under construction will be closed, and parking is restricted. In emergency situations, access may be permitted by notifying DDOT. Work is estimated to take about two weeks, weather permitting. DDOT will be working in the following alleys this week:

Ward 6

  • Square 1013, bound by Massachusetts Avenue SE, Kentucky Avenue SE, East Capitol Street, and 13th Street SE
  • Square 0693, bound by Ivy Street SE, New Jersey Avenue SE, D Street SE and South Capitol Street SE

Ward 7

  • Square 5523, bound by 40th Street SE, Fort Dupont Street SE, Fort Davis Place SE, Southern Avenue SE and Pennsylvania Avenue SE

If you live near any of the project areas, please remove your vehicles by the posted times, and encourage your neighbors to do the same.
