Temporary Traffic Pattern Shift on Minnesota Ave NE Begins August 26
(Washington, DC)— The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes and shift traffic patterns on Minnesota Ave, NE.
The following closures and traffic shifts will be in place Monday, August 26, 2019, through Saturday, September 7, 2019, weather permitting:
- Minnesota, NE southbound from Sheriff Rd, NE to the Watts Branch Bridge. Temporarily close a single lane and shift the traffic pattern. One lane of traffic in each direction will be available at all times. This activity will run nightly from 8:00 pm through 5:00 a.m.
- Minnesota, NE southbound from Hunt Pl, NE to Sherriff Rd, NE. Temporarily close the right lane and shift the traffic pattern. One lane of traffic in each direction will be available at all times. This activity will run continuously behind barricades from 7:00 am through 7:00 p.m.
This work is a part of the ongoing Minnesota Avenue Phase II Rehabilitation Project and is required for sidewalk reconstruction and electrical duct bank installation.
Pedestrians and motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful construction personnel.
