Temporary Sidewalk and Lane Closures
on Key Bridge
Begin March 26

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single right lanes and sidewalks on the Francis Scott Key Bridge from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. beginning Tuesday, March 26 through April 5, 2019, weather permitting.

The closures will occur Monday through Thursday nights and alternate between southbound toward Rosslyn, Va., and northbound toward Georgetown. During the closures, pedestrian and bicycle access on the bridge will shift to the side not undergoing work. Marked sidewalk detours will be in place.

The closures are a part of the ongoing Key Bridge Rehabilitation Project and allows for light pole replacement.

Pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to stay alert while traveling through this work area.

The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.
