(Washington, DC) – Temporary off-peak lane closures will be set up on westbound Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 26th Street and 28th Street NW. The daytime closures will take place Monday through Friday, 9:30 am – 4 pm, weather permitting. The lane closures will start Monday, March 13, and are anticipated to last approximately two weeks.

The sidewalk within the lane closure will also be closed. The traffic lanes and sidewalk will re-opened each afternoon at 4 pm.

The closures allow the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to safely rehabilitate the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge over Rock Creek and the Rock Creek Parkway. Work includes removing stone to clean and restore the stone masonry on the bridge's façade.

The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.  Follow us on Twitter for transportation-related updates and more; like us on Facebook and visit the website at www.ddot.dc.gov.
