(Washington, DC) - As part of an ongoing reconstruction project on Minnesota Avenue, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will shift the traffic pattern on Minnesota Avenue NE between Benning Road NE and Blaine Street NE. Northbound traffic will be shifted to the center of the roadway beginning Friday, February 3. Southbound traffic will continue along the outside curb lane. This phase of work is expected to last approximately 8 weeks, weather permitting.

Variable Message Boards are being used to warn motorists that southbound and northbound lanes of Minnesota Avenue are shifting to allow for the safe installation of the new roadway. This is part of the ongoing reconstruction of Minnesota Avenue between A Street SE and 300 feet south of Benning Road NE.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers and protect workers and pedestrians. Motorists are advised to be alert to all traffic changes and construction personnel while traveling through this area.

For additional details, please contact the project’s public outreach office at (202) 506-2136, or visit the project website at www.minnesotaave.org.

The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.
