FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close eastbound and westbound lanes on each side along Rhode Island Avenue NW from New Jersey Avenue NW to 6th Street NW; and from 7th Street NW to Logan Circle NW beginning Monday, March 13, 2017, from 7 am to 7 pm, weather permitting. The work will be performed Monday through Saturday until mid-April.
The closures are necessary so DDOT can conduct roadway repair work including resurfacing of the corridor.
During construction, at least one lane will be opened in each direction at all times. Curbside parking will not be allowed on some parts of Rhode Island Avenue during construction.
Parking restriction signs will be posted 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will not be allowed. These signs will notify the public of the dates, the duration and contact information.
Message signs will be in place to route motorists around the work area. Motorists should expect moderate-to-heavy delays, and DDOT encourages all motorists traveling through this work zone to stay alert.
The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment
