Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations, July 6

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close alternating single lanes on I-695 (Southeast Freeway) over South Capitol Street Thursday, July 6 from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting. There will be a right-lane closure of eastbound I-695 followed by alternating left- and right-lane closures of westbound I-695.

The closures are necessary for DDOT to conduct routine bridge inspections.

Traffic controls will be in place. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. They are advised to stay alert, while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.

The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.
