Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations, February 20-23
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for routine bridge and tunnel inspections. These closures will occur from 10 am to 3 pm, from Tuesday, February 20 through Friday, February 23, weather permitting, and unless otherwise noted.
Tuesday, February 20
Northbound right-lane closure, followed by a southbound right-lane closure on 9th Street NE over Amtrak, CSX, WMATA and New York Avenue.
Wednesday, February 21
Right-lane closure on the ramp from westbound I-66 to westbound Route 50 over Little River and George Washington Parkway.
The westbound left-lane closure will be followed by eastbound left-lane closure on I-395 over Washington Channel, Maine Avenue, and Ohio Drive.
Thursday, February 22
The eastbound left lane will be closed followed by a westbound left-lane closure on the I-395 over Washington Channel, Maine Avenue, and Ohio Drive.
A westbound right-lane closure will be followed by an eastbound right-lane closure on the T. Roosevelt Bridge over the Little River and George Washington Parkway.
Friday, February 23
An eastbound right-lane closure will be followed by a westbound right-lane closure on the T. Roosevelt Bridge over the Little River and George Washington Parkway.
An alternating eastbound lane closure will be followed by westbound alternating lane closure on Irving Street under North Capitol Street NE on Friday, February 23, from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
A northbound right-lane closure will be followed by a southbound right-lane closure on North Capitol Street NE under Soldier’s Home Road on Friday, February 23, from 11:30 am to 3 pm.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
