(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close one southbound lane on Kenilworth Avenue under Benning Road NE Wednesday, May 17, from 9 pm to 5 am, weather permitting. The closure will be in place until Tuesday, May 30.

The closure is needed so that repair work can occur on the ramps. Eastbound Benning Road NE lanes will remain open to the public. Only the eastbound ramp heading south will be affected.

DDOT will put in place detour signs to guide traffic to the shortest route around the ramp closure. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closures.

Drivers are advised to stay alerted while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the DDOT personnel.
