Temporary Lane Closure on Monroe Street Bridge January 15

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close one lane of traffic on the eastbound Monroe Street NE Bridge beginning 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 15 until 7:00 am on Wednesday, January 16, weather permitting.

This temporary lane closure is necessary to complete work related to the ongoing Reconstruction of Monroe Street NE Bridge Project. Motorist and pedestrian traffic will be stopped while beams are being lifted. During this activity, motorists will be detoured to northbound 7th Street NE to Michigan Avenue NE to 10th Street NE.

DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic around the work zone and maintain public safety. The sidewalk on the north side will remain open at all times.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.

The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.
