Temporary Lane Closure on I-295 Southbound from June 11 – July 2
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to close one lane of traffic on I-295 Southbound from Exit 2 to Exit 1 beginning Monday, June 11, weather permitting. The lane closure is necessary as part of a two-phased project to mill and pave that stretch of roadway.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by July 2, 2018, weather permitting.
Phase one of the project, June 11-June 12, will take place on the shoulder from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
During phase two, June 12 through July 2, work will take place overnight from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am, Sundays through Thursdays.
Throughout construction in both phases, one lane of the roadway will be open to traffic.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching these areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
