Temporary Closures on Monroe Street NE Bridge
July 21 and July 23

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close the eastbound lane of Monroe Street NE from 7th Street to 10th Street on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm, weather permitting.
On Monday, July 23, 2018, the Monroe Street NE Bridge will be closed to all motorists from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, weather permitting. Motorists will be detoured to Michigan Avenue using 7th Street and 10th Street.
In the event of rain, both closures will be moved to the following day within the given time frames.
These closures are necessary to complete work in coordination with PEPCO and to complete concrete pours as part of the ongoing reconstruction project. The sidewalk will remain open during the lane closures.
DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic through the work zone for all closures to maintain public safety. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.
The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment.
