Temporary Closure of Monroe Street NE Bridge August 3-4
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the Monroe Street NE Bridge to motorist beginning at 7:00 pm tonight, as previously scheduled. The bridge will be closed for a 24-hour period, reopening at 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 4, weather permitting.
This closure is necessary to complete the installation of structural steel beams. Motorists will be detoured to Michigan Avenue NE using 7th Street NE and 10th Street NE. The sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians during the lane closures.
DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic through the work zone to maintain public safety.
Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.
