(Washington DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin construction on Minnesota Avenue NE from Dix Street NE to Sherriff Road NE starting Tuesday, September 11, 2017, weather permitting. Work will initially begin in the center lane for utility upgrades and will occur Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm. This eight-phase project is expected to continue for 25 months with completion in the fall of 2019. At all times during the various phases of work, there will be one travel lane in each direction on Minnesota Avenue and an additional turning lane will be maintained at the intersections. The work zone will shift in various phases and will be marked with the appropriate directional signage. Flaggers will be in place where appropriate to guide motorists around the work zone.

Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to stay alert and to use caution when traveling through the work zone. DDOT will continue to inform the public of lane closures and changes as they occur.

For additional details, please contact the project’s public outreach office at (202) 506-2136 or visit the project website at http://minnesotaavephase2.com.
