Overnight Lane Closures on South Capitol Street Continue through April 13

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation's (DDOT) temporary closure of all lanes of traffic on South Capitol Street overnight will continue through Saturday, April 13, weather permitting.

All lanes on South Capitol Street SE between Malcolm X Avenue SE and the northbound DC-295 ramp and South Capitol Street SW between Overlook Avenue SW and Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE will be temporarily closed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.

These temporary lane closures are necessary to complete work related to the Rehabilitation of Anacostia Freeway Bridges over South Capitol Street Project.

During these closures, DDOT will provide detours and signage to guide traffic around the work zone and maintain public safety.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.
