Nighttime Lane Closures on H Street NW, Massachusetts Avenue NW between 2nd Street and 4th Street Starting Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Tuesday, May 27, 2014
Lane Closures Expected to Last 14 Months

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced that it will be implementing nighttime lane closures on H Street NW and Massachusetts Avenue NW, between 2nd Street and 4th Street, starting on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. The lane closures will continue to take place on a nightly basis, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday. The related work—which involves upgrading and installing new underground utilities and restore the roadway along these two corridors—is expected to last for approximately 14 months, weather permitting.

Traffic control signs will be placed to guide travelers along the corridor and direct traffic to alternative routes.  As the work progresses, residents and businesses will be notified of any changes or updates to the project activities and schedule.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time, as traffic delays are likely to occur, and/or use alternate routes to bypass the construction area.

DDOT encourages all motorists and pedestrians to stay alert and follow all signs as they travel through this corridor.
