(Washington DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin the Kennedy Street Revitalization Project Monday, October 24. The project is expected to be completed in March 2017. The initial phase will be from Georgia Avenue, NW, to 3rd and Kennedy Street, NW. The work includes curb and gutter replacements, sidewalk repair, catch basins and new bus pads.

Intermittent lane closures will occur during daytime and off-peak hours. Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers and protect workers and pedestrians.

Motorists are advised to be alert to all traffic changes and construction personnel while traveling through this area. Emergency No Parking signs will be posted on a “block by block” basis a minimum of 72 hours before the start of construction.

Sidewalk detours will also be in place while sidewalk repair is in progress. Signage and protective barriers will be used to maintain public safety.
