The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is a large organization with a mission to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors. Here are some of our duties: we maintain 1,392 linear miles of roadway in the District, 1,495 miles of sidewalk, 358 miles of alleys, 241 bridges, and 16 tunnels. Our team also maintains 13,525 parking meters, 150,000 street trees, and 79 miles of bike lanes.
