FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on northbound and southbound Rock Creek Parkway, in the section between Whitehurst Freeway and 500 feet past M Street NW. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. The lane closures will begin overnight from Sunday, March 11 through Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 9 pm to 5 am, the following day, weather permitting.
The closures are needed for the rehabilitation of the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge over Rock Creek and the Rock Creek Parkway. In order to accommodate the construction activities involved in repairing the structural features of the bridge, some work is being performed beneath the bridge and from the Rock Creek Parkway.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the construction personnel.
