DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations, May 14-17
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for routine bridge and tunnel inspections, from 10 am to 3 pm, (unless otherwise noted), Monday, May 14 through Wednesday, May 17, weather permitting.
Monday, May 14
Left-lane closure on northbound Connecticut Avenue over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue followed by a concurrent left-lane closure on the southbound side of Connecticut Avenue.
Tuesday, May 15
Alternating left- and right-lane closures on southbound Suitland Parkway under Anacostia Freeway (I-295).
Alternating right- and left-lane closures on southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Oxon Run Bay followed by alternating right- and left-lane closures on northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295).
Wednesday, May 16
Alternating right- and left-lane closures on northbound 11th Street SE under southbound I-695. This will be followed by alternating right- and left-lane closures on southbound 11th Street SE.
Right-lane closures of eastbound M Street SE under southbound I-695, followed by a right lane closure on westbound M Street SE from 12:30 pm to 3 pm, Wednesday, May 16.
Thursday, May 17
Alternating right- and left-lane closures of eastbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Suitland Parkway followed by alternating right- and left-lane closures of westbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295).
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. They are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
