FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close one lane of traffic, while maintaining at least one lane of traffic at the intersection of Blair Road NW and Kansas Avenue NW, starting Thursday, November 2, 2017. The closure is expected to run for seven days, weather permitting, from Monday through Friday, between 9 am and 4 pm; and on Saturday from 7 am - 7 pm. Curbside parking will also be restricted during this time.
The temporary closure is needed to facilitate concrete repair work at this intersection. Access to the adjacent houses will be maintained.
If weather conditions, schedule changes or unforeseen issues do not permit the work to begin November 2, a new start date for construction will be listed on the Emergency No Parking signs posted on the poles and trees throughout the construction project site. The signs will be posted 72 hours before the start of construction.
Motorists are advised they will experience moderate-to-heavy delays, and to be mindful and cautious as they travel through the work zone.
The mission of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is to enhance the quality of life for District residents and visitors by ensuring that people, goods, and information move efficiently and safely with minimal adverse impact on residents and the environment
