DDOT Bridge and Tunnel Inspections for the Week of December 30

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections.

DDOT will temporarily close the following roadways:

  • South Capitol Street under Malcolm X Avenue SE, a right lane closure of the southbound South Capitol Street followed by a right lane closure of the northbound South Capitol Street on Thursday, January 3, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.
  • Northbound South Capitol Street Bridge Southern Approach (Middle Ramp), a right lane closure) followed by a left lane closure on Friday, January 4, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
