Bridge and Tunnel Inspections for the Week of April 1

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

  • Southbound I-395 Ramp to westbound I-395 under CSX Railroad alternating right and left lane closures on Monday, April 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting
  • Ramp from southbound I-395 to eastbound I-695 (Southeast Freeway) over ramp from eastbound I-395 to northbound I-395 and under CSX bridges alternating right and left lane closures on Tuesday, April 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting
  • Kenilworth Avenue under Eastern Avenue alternating left and right lane closures of Northbound Kenilworth Avenue under Eastern Avenue followed by right lane closure of Southbound Kenilworth Avenue under Eastern Avenue closure on Tuesday, April 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting
  • I-695 (Southeast Freeway) over South Capitol Street right lane closure of Eastbound I-695 followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Westbound I-695 on Wednesday, April 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting
  • South Capitol Street under I-695 (Southeast Freeway) alternating right and lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street followed by alternating right and lane closures of Southbound South Capitol Street on Thursday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting
  • Ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) alternating right and left lane closures on Friday, April 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
