Thursday, May 1, 2014

Washington, DC - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting inspections of the East Capitol Street, NE Bridge over the Anacostia River (Whitney Young Memorial Bridge) from Monday, May 05, 2014 to Saturday, May 24, 2014.

The inspections will require single-lane or multiple-lane closures on eastbound and/or westbound East Capitol Street, NE—between the Anacostia Freeway (DC 295) and Independence Avenue—from Monday, May 5 to Saturday, May 17, 2014, between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm; weather permitting.

In addition, intermittent nightly closures are also expected along this corridor from Monday, May 12 to Saturday, May 24, 2014, between 10 pm and 5 am.

Temporary signs and traffic control measures will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public through the work zone. DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel through the work zone.

In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.
