(Washington D.C.) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be implementing daytime lane closures along the Anacostia Freeway (DC 295) to facilitate the installation of a new dynamic message sign on the highway. A traffic lane shift will also be implemented on southbound Kenilworth Avenue, NE as part of this project.
These temporary closures are scheduled to take place as follows:
- Temporary right-lane closure on southbound Anacostia Freeway (DC 295), between Eastern Avenue. NE and Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, on Saturday, April 12, 2014; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Temporary lane shift on southbound Kenilworth Avenue NE, between Quarles Street and Douglas Street, on Saturday, April 12, 2014; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area. DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel in this corridor. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
