Temporary Lane Closures Planned for Westbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway) from May 2-30, 2014

Traffic Access Will be Kept Open at All Times

(Washington D.C.) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced that it will be implementing lane closures along westbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway) to install new dynamic message signs above the interstate.

The lane closures will be take place as follows:

Friday, May 2 to Friday, May 30, 2014
• The right lane on westbound I-695 approaching the 3rd Street Tunnel will be closed.
• To accommodate work zone staging an additional right lane will be temporarily closed starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, May 2 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014.
• To accommodate the construction process, an additional right lane will be closed on weeknights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., from Wednesday, May 7 to Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area.

DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel in this corridor.

All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
