Street Closures and Parking Restrictions for Inaugural Practice Parade

In preparation for the main event, an Inaugural Practice Parade will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 necessitating limited street closures and parking restrictions in the District of Columbia.

WASHINGTON, DC - In preparation for the main event, an Inaugural Practice Parade will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 necessitating limited street closures and parking restrictions in the District of Columbia. Motorists and bicyclists are asked to take note of the following information that will impact where you can drive, ride and park on Sunday.

Parking Restrictions

The following areas will be posted for Emergency No Parking in conjunction with the Inaugural Practice Parade from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 13:

  • Constitution Avenue from 1st Street, NE to 6th Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street, NW, to 15th Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 17th Street, NW to 19th Street. NW
  • 15th Street from I Street, NW south to Independence Avenue, SW

Street Closures

The following streets will be closed in conjunction with the Inaugural Practice Parade from approximately 6:15 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 13:

  • Constitution Avenue from 1st Street, NE, to 6th Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street, NW to 15th Street, NW
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from 17th Street, NW, to 19th Street, NW
  • 15th Street from I Street, NW south to Independence Avenue, SW
  • Streets crossing Pennsylvania Avenue along the parade route will be closed temporarily between 7:00 am and noon.
