Washington, DC - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will institute a single-lane closure on westbound Canal Road, NW, between Foxhall Road and Reservoir Road, from 3 pm to 7 pm on Friday, March 28, 2014. This closure is necessary to perform emergency work on the roadway.
After the evening rush hour, westbound Canal Road NW will be fully closed between Foxhall Road and Reservoir Road from 7 pm to 9 pm. During this closure, motorists should follow the detour below:
- Westbound traffic on Canal Road,NW will be directed west on Foxhall Road, NW, west on MacArthur Boulevard, NW, and then south on Arizona Avenue, NW to reconnect with Canal Road, NW.
Traffic will still be allowed to travel eastbound on Canal Road NW in this corridor during this period.
Temporary signs and traffic control measures will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public through the work zone. DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel through the work zone.
