Sherriff Road NE Safety Improvements Advertised for Construction

Washington, DC - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) today advertised for contractor bids for a project that will install safety improvements on Sherriff Road NE, between 43rd Place and 52nd Street.

This project includes the rehabilitation/resurfacing of Sheriff Road NE and traffic calming along this corridor.  The total length of the project is approximately 0.974 mile.  Work shall be performed within the existing right-of-way up to 50 feet maximum from the curb return on the side streets approaching Sheriff Road intersections.  The extent of the rehabilitation work is as detailed in the Scope of Work, Special Provisions and on the Contract Plans.

Bids are due for this project on July 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. Sealed bids can be mailed or delivered to DDOT OCP Bid Room, 55 M Street SE - 4th Floor, Washington D.C.  20003.

This is a Federally Funded Open Market Project. While no specific contract goal has been established, prime contractors are encouraged to utilize certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) certified in accordance with 49CFR Part 26 to perform work on this project.

This project is subject to all appropriate Federal Laws including title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  During the performance of the Contract, the Contractor and any of its subcontractors shall comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.  The Act provides that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin be excluded from participation in, or be denied the benefits of or be subject to discrimination in federally funded program and activities.  See 42 U.S.C. §2000 et seg.
