Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Safety Inspections

(Washington DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will conduct a series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District’s highway network from Tuesday, August 5 to Friday, August 8, 2014. These activities will require single-lane closures, and will take place during off-peak hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting. 
The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Eastbound and Westbound I-395 over 7th Street SE 
                  Tuesday, August 5, 2014 
                  There will be a left lane closure of the eastbound I-395 over 7th Street SE, followed by left lane closure of the westbound I-395 over 7th Street SE.

Westbound I-395 over the CSX Railroad, New Jersey Avenue and Virginia Avenue 
                  Friday, August 8, 2014  
                  There will be a right-lane closure of westbound I-395 over the CSX Railroad tracks, New Jersey Avenue and Virginia Avenue.

Ramp connecting northbound South Capitol Street to northbound I-395    
                Friday, August 8, 2014 
                There will be a partial ramp closure of the ramp connecting northbound South Capitol Street to northbound I-395.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists as they approach the areas. Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
