FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation will alter service on its transit systems this Saturday, March 12, due to road closures across the District for the Rock 'N Roll Marathon.
DC Circulator will run modified service due to the road closures. Two of the six routes will be directly impacted by the race.
- The National Mall route will begin service at 10 am, instead of the scheduled 9 am opening. The route will operate as normal after the delayed start.
- Woodley Park – Adams Morgan – McPherson Square will be on detour with no service at stops north of 14th Street and U Street NW, between 7 am and noon.
Normal service will begin at noon, or as road closures allow. Service between 14th Street and U Street, NW, and McPherson Square will operate as usual all day.
Georgetown – Union Station and Rosslyn – Dupont Circle routes will not be directly impacted by road closures for the race, but might experience delays.
DC Streetcar will also have a delayed start. Streetcar service will begin after the marathon traffic clears and operations are restored at approximately 1 pm Saturday.
Capital Bikeshare will operate on a regular schedule.
