Traffic Safety Crash Reports

Traffic Safety Crash Reports - traffic accident between a black and white car

DDOT provides information and recommendation regarding traffic accident issues within DC.

The reports are published by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to disseminate traffic crash statistics and identify high frequency crash locations.

A comprehensive look at traffic safety issues in the District of Columbia is crucial for developing effective counter measures.

The information focuses on locations, collisions types, vehicle classifications, severity, date and time, pedestrians, age groups, and all other pertinent information available. A comprehensive ranking list and trends of selected high hazard crash intersections and corridors is provided in the reports.

The District of Columbia uses the Motor Vehicle Crash Report for Property Damage Only form to collect information that facilitate the implementation of safety programs, which save lives, improve roads and better prevent future crashes. Use the form if NO police report was taken. Complete and return within 5 DAYS of the crash.

Please call 911 for all crashes involving an injury, complaints of injury, District or Federal property damage to a public transportation vehicle, or if the motor vehicle sustains mechanical damage that makes it inoperable.
