Tree-Related Services
Description/Schedule of Service
You can request tree-related services by calling the Mayor's Citywide Call Center at 311 or completing a service request online using the District government's Service Request Center. Identify the specific location of the tree (i.e. street side, alley, private yard) and the service needed (i.e. trimming, spraying, removal, planting, fallen limb). Describe the severity of the problem (i.e. limb blocking street, dangerous leaning). DDOT does not maintain trees that are on private property or in alleys; such trees are the responsibility of the property owner. DDOT will move or remove fallen limbs that are impeding vehicle passage through alleys. A service request will be put into the tracking system, and the resident will receive a service request number. DPW will be responsible for moving or removing fallen limbs that are impeding vehicle passage through streets or alleys.

Further Action
DDOT's standard is to investigate routine tree-related problems within 15 business days of the time they are reported. Current volume in the Urban Forestry Administration of DDOT is such that immediate services are not available except for emergency situations. It is anticipated that service shall be rendered within 6 months of investigation. Call the Mayor's Hotline at (202) 727-2980 if the problem hasn't been repaired by the specified date of completion. Please reference your service request number. |
