Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge Commuter Solutions
Bridge Bucks Program
Please Note: Thank you for your interest in the DC Bridge Bucks Program and for helping to improve commuting this summer as the Frederick Douglass Bridge is closed for major reconstruction. If your application is approved, your name will be placed on a waiting list, as the program is currently filled to capacity.
Bridge Bucks is a commuter incentive program sponsored by the District Department of Transportation that provides $50 a month to commuters who switch out of their cars and into buses, trains or vanpools. Saving money, time and inconvenience, Bridge Bucks empowers individual commuters to choose rideshare or transit options that best serve their specific needs. Aimed at reducing traffic while the Frederick Douglass Bridge (often referred to as the South Capitol Street Bridge) is closed for major upgrades during the months of July and August 2007, Bridge Bucks is available to a limited number of eligible commuters who are affected by the temporary closure of this major access point in and out of Washington, DC.
